De Kendrick a Lorde: éstos son los nominados a los Grammy 2018

Ya se han hecho públicos los nombres de los nominados a los Premios Grammy del próximo 2018; una lista sin grandes sorpresas, sobresaltos o ausencias injustas –sabíamos que More Life, la playlist de Drake, no iba a estar, y así ha sido.

Jay-Z es el artista con más nominaciones a esta 60º edición de los Grammy. El rapero compite hasta en ocho categorías, incluidas álbum, canción y grabación del año. Le sigue Kendrick Lamar, cuyo DAMN ha conseguido acumular siete nominaciones.

Otros de los nombres destacados son Lorde, cuyo Melodrama competirá por alzarse con el premio a Álbum del Año, o Childish Gambino, el alias musical bajo el que Donald Glover ha firmado el notable Awaken, My Love!

Los nominados a Mejor Artista Revelación son Alessia Cara, Khalid, Lil Uzi Vert, Julia Michaels y la prometedora SZA. Por otro lado, las bandas que optan al Mejor Álbum Alternativo son Arcade Fire, Gorillaz, LCD Soundsystem, Father John Misty y the National. En lo que respecta al rap, se batirán entre sí Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Migos, Rapsody y Tyler the Creator.

¿Qué hay de Cardi B? Su Bodak Yellow compite en dos categorías: las de Mejor Interpretación y Canción Rap.

De entre los nombres propios a destacar entre la lista de nominados, encontramos a Perfume Genius con su No Shape –Mejor Producción–, Brian Eno con Reflection –Mejor Álbum New Age– o el añorado Leonard Cohen con un par de tracks de You Want It Darker –Mejor Actuación Rock para la canción homónima al álbum y Mejor Actuación de Raíces Clásicas para Steer Your Way.

Nominados a Mejor Disco de Rock, por otro parte, hayamos a War on Drugs, Queens of the Stone Age, Mastodon, Metallica y Nothing More.

La presencia de Taylor Swift se reduce a dos nominaciones: Mejor Canción Compuesta para un Medio Visual por I Don't Wanna Live Forever (50 Sombras Más Oscuras) y Mejor Actuación de Dúo/Grupo Country por Better Man. De Look What You Made Me Do, ni rastro.

Como curiosidad, entre la lista de nominados a Mejor Álbum Spoken Word localizamos Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In. Narrado por Mark Ruffalo, este trabajo incluye poesía, audiolibros y storytelling. ¿Su autor? Nada más y nada menos que el demócrata Bernie Sanders, cuyos contrincantes en los Grammy serán Bruce Springsteen, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Shelly Peiken y la desaparecida Carrie Fisher.
